Charles H. Lawson III Youth Award
Attention: High School Principals, Counselors, Pastors, Social Fraternal Organizations
The East St. Louis NAACP will host its 68th Freedom Fund Awards Banquet on Sunday, October 9, 2022, 5:00 pm at the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel, 800 Washington Avenue -St. Louis, Missouri. It will be an “in person” event.
The Charles H. Lawson III Youth Award, a traditional feature of the banquet will be awarded during the banquet. A first place ($2000) and a second place ($1500) award will be given to two high school graduating seniors whose selection is based on the following criteria: community involvement; church involvement, scholastic achievement; membership and extra - curricular activities.
Enclosed is an application for the award. Please duplicate and disseminate copies to interested high school seniors. The deadline for all entries and supportive documentation is Friday, September 30, 2022. Documentation must be presented in a scrapbook.
